Wizkid and his new music

Regardless of how this post turns out, I would like to state that I have been and still am a huge fan of Wizkid. I became a fan back in 2010, my housemates back then had no choice but to fall in love with Wizkid as well. I played his songs when I woke up, when I got back from classes, when I was going to sleep at every party I ever DJ’ed at.

His music grew on me each time it got played. The song that really did it for me was the Jesse Jagz song he was featured on, Intoxicated. My oh my, the number of parties it was played at and what it did to the girls, my oh my. Then he released his album and my dear mother sent his album to me all the way from Nigeria to Canada. God bless her soul. I played the CD until it began to skip/scratch.

The album, Superstar, didn’t like the album cover, but the album was superb. There was no need to skip any track. There are only a few albums where you can listen to every song and like every song. The album was used for many of my 401 trips from Windsor to Waterloo, Windsor to Hamilton, Windsor to North York, Windsor to Ottawa. Men that album helped a lone traveller during those 8-hour Ottawa trips.

Superstar had Scatter The Floor, Oluwa Lo Ni, For Me, Love my baby, Pakurumo, What You Wanna Do like my oh my the album was packed. Songs with different stories…

Then, the EME album too was awesome I jammed to all the songs Wizkid was on, skipped some of Skales’ part but the whole project was really nice.

Then, Ayo, oooh it had Ojuelegba and some other nice ones.

But and a very big but the different stories from Superstar has drastically reduced. Stories in the songs I have heard so far revolve around the same topic.

Wizzy! Give us more MUSIC! Music being the key word.
